You think connection has to mean something.
That it has to be significant. That it has to last. That it has to complete you.
But it does not.
Sometimes it is just a stranger glancing at you and not looking away
Or a single reply at 1am from someone who does not even know your name.
Or the delivery dude who lingers for a second to ask how you r doing.
Or a dog stopping in the street to sniff your hand before its owner pulls him along.

You keep waiting for connection to look like it does in your head.
That is why you keep missing the ones already happening.

We underestimate how much those quiet, passing connections keep us from drifting too far.
They act like tiny anchors ⚓️ – subtle reminders that you still exist in someone else’s world even for a second.
And that’s sometimes all it takes to keep me from disappearing into my own.
