People don’t see themselves as evil. Everyone believes they are on the side of good.
They convinced they are right.
The people you see as villains don’t wake up in the morning thinking, I’m the bad guy. They believe they are protecting, fixing, fighting for what is right.
This doesn’t mean they aren’t 👿, it means they don’t experience themselves as evil.
Remembering this doesn’t excuse harm but it helps me somehow.
