I love coffee. I’m trying to limit myself to just one cup a day* – but since I’m only having one, I want it to be great. That’s become a kind of mission over the years.

In Morocco, good coffee exists, but you have to go looking for it. The average cafe won’t blow you away. If you have a local friend, you might get lucky – either at their place or through their personal recommendations. But most random spots serve coffee that’s just… okay.

Still, it’s worth exploring. Try asking for “spiced coffee” or something “special” – you might discover a flavor you didn’t expect to like

I’ve also started buying good beans when I find them – sometimes locally roasted, sometimes from small shops with their own blends. I grind them at home, and that’s been a game changer. I go for low-acid, chocolatey, smooth. Rich without being sharp. That’s my taste.

So yes, one cup a day – but it’s the highlight.

*And another one… cold brew, mid-day, I guess.
