If you just woke up and you are reading this, you already shaped your day – and not in a good way.
Let me explain,
After sleep, your brain ‘resets’
Dopamine is low, but your dopamine receptors are sensitive.
So when the first thing you do is scroll (something that gives a fast reward with zero effort), here is what happens:
1. Your brain gets a dopamine spike.
It feels good, news, likes, messages. Your brain notices.
2. It tags that activity as “valuable”
Because dopamine is involved, your brain assumes: this must be important, do more of this.
3. It lowers the value of other tasks.
Later when you sit down to do something meaningful, but slower or harder, your brain compares it to that effortless morning hit. And it feels shit by contrast.
Feels so frustrating.
You trained your system to seek stimulation, not satisfaction.
You’re setting the tone for how your brain evaluates the rest of your day.
