Said I looked sad. In pain.
I nodded. Put on the coat.
The heavy one. The one that hides everything.
At the cafe they said I looked focused.
Like someone deep in thought.
Like someone who chooses quiet,
I smiled. Stirred my ice coffee,
though I was not cold anymore.
The coat made it hard to move my weak hands.
but I kept it on.
Too many people
were comforted
by how well it fit.
